Between May-September 2022, Dallas ISD communicated various administrative conclusions regarding my employment status to avoid addressing grievances regarding discrimination and District conduct. After ignoring my communications and those of my attorney for two months, the District recorded I had abandoned my job. Then a month later they alleged I had resigned in lieu of being terminated. Then afterwards, they alleged I had been terminated. It was as if the District was writing alternate realities, each one closing doors to my defense. By the end of September 2022, the dispute was escalated to the Texas Education Commissioner. In his December 2022 decision, he clarified that Dallas ISD claims were all invalid as they failed to follow Texas Education Codes regarding any of the three alleged acts. Thus, if the District wanted to pursue termination, they would have to follow Texas Education Code Chapter 21 requirements, including providing me a hearing to challenge the evidence and cross-examine any witnesses.
